UDS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Ghana’s UDS School of Medicine trains more than 1,000 medical learners with a focus on care for the poor. UDS is committed to the health of Ghana’s citizens and education of the next generation of healthcare providers. UDS achieves its mission through its local and international partners, such as the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.

 

TAMALE TEACHING HOSPITAL

The Tamale Teaching Hospital located in Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region of Ghana, was established in 1974 and currently serves at the only tertiary health service provider for public and private healthcare providers and clients from all six regions in the northern sector of Ghana, as well parts of the neighboring countries of Burkina Faso, Togo, and La Cote d’Ivoire. With a vision to become a center of excellence for tertiary healthcare, medical education and research, the Hospital places high emphasis on opportunities for enhancements in quality of care, strengthening of its health systems and capacity building for its staff.

Through AMPATH Ghana, NYU Grossman School of Medicine extends its impact in Ghana to include a medical partnership in rural northern Ghana to complement its longstanding and well-established presence in southern Ghana that includes undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and clinical services.
