10 Ghanaian Faculty participate in NYSIM Course through AMPATH Ghana Partnership

In a remarkable collaboration between healthcare institutions across continents, ten Ghanaian faculty visited NYC to participate in a specialized 5-day training course at the New York Simulation Center (NYSIM). Sponsored by AMPATH Ghana and supported by a partnership with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, this initiative aimed to enhance the skills and expertise of healthcare faculty in Ghana through immersive simulation-based training. The participants, representing various medical disciplines, embarked on a transformative learning experience that combined cutting-edge simulation technology with expert instruction.

The training program at NYSIM provided Ghanaian faculty members with hands-on practice in working with high-fidelity manikins, expanding knowledge in simulation methodology, and developing their own simulation cases and objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs). Through this intensive training, participants honed their curriculum building skills, decision-making abilities, and teamwork dynamics, equipping them with valuable tools to run their own simulation cases back in Ghana with a new cohort of medical students. The collaboration between AMPATH Ghana and NYSIM underscores a commitment to global health equity and capacity building, fostering international partnerships in healthcare technology and promote excellence in medical education.
